BIU inventors set to paticipate in Seoul Inventors Fair

 As the world plans to showcase the latest inventors at the forthcoming Seoul International Inventors Fair coming up early next month in South Korea, two students of Benson Idahosa University, Mr. David Momodu and Mr. Ifeoluwapo Ajiboye have been selected among other world renowned inventors to display their products.

Mr. Momodu, a student of the Information and Communication Department, who in the past three consecutive years had conquered the local scene, claimed all available laurels, represented Nigeria in various international inventors’ fora by developing a Multipurpose Spraying Machine which won him a medal in New Delhi, India in 2007.

 

He also developed Automated Foot-Swap System while Mr. Ajiboye, a student of the Physics Department developed Multifunction Manicure and Pedicure system which would be displayed at the Nigerian stand during the event which starts from December 3 -7th, 2009.

According to the Nigerian Association of Inventors, the event is the largest annual inventors’ fair in Asia which provide a great opportunity to have ideas and inventions promoted in the global market.

The event will be hosted by the Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPA) with the support of the World Intellectual Organization.While commenting on this feat, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Gideon E. D Omuta, said that the university had continued to confirm its status as an incontrovertible colossus, an undisputed champion among its peers and a centre of innovative incubation in Nigeria.

He added that the university would work harder in raising many more world class performers who will deliver cutting edge solutions wherever they are.Professor Omuta encouraged students of the institution to follow the footsteps of their colleagues in raising the bars in their chosen areas so that more new records could be set.
