BIU pioneers

accredited IT certification

Programs

 

On the17th of May 2010 BIU Technologies, the IT Business arm of Benson Idahosa University, in partnership with GNT Nigeria, received its Prometric license and thus became recognized as an International testing centre for the major certification programs offered by the reputable IT industry giants such as Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Linux, etc. This makes BIU the first private University in Nigeria to offer fully accredited IT certification programs for its students and the community.

BIU in a joint

initiative for Green Africa

Benson Idahosa University (BIU) has joined the global clamor for a green society. The initiative which is one of the first by an African university is termed “Academia for Green Africa”.

Academia for Green Africa (AGFA) is an Initiative of Envirofly Consulting UK Limited and Benson Idahosa University, Nigeria, that identifies the role of academic institutions in Africa towards meeting and addressing the current global challenges of Climate Change and the Environment.Conceived in early 2010 as a follow up to the deliberations of the last Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen, this initiative is strategic in bridging the environmental competence gaps currently in Africa using strategic partnerships and networks with established environmental academic institutions and bodies globally.

As a result of this, Benson Idahosa University and Envirofly Consulting UK Limited are hosting the first conference to identify and enhance the role of African academic institutions in achieving a Greener Africa
